Binaural beats · Android app

One tone in each ear. Your brain hears a third.

NeuroHarmonics plays two close frequencies, one per ear. Their difference matches a brain rhythm: sleep, relaxation, focus. Free, no account, just headphones.

01 — The principle

The third tone isn't in either earphone.

  1. 460Hz Left ear

A pure, steady tone, played only in the left earphone.

  2. 464Hz Right ear

A barely higher tone, played only in the right earphone.

  3. 4Hz Perceived by the brain

A pulse at the difference between the two. It arises in the brainstem.

The binaural beat Two sine waves: 460 Hz in the left ear, 464 Hz in the right ear. Below, the perceived signal, whose loudness pulses four times per second: 4 Hz. LEFT 460 Hz RIGHT 464 Hz PERCEIVED 4 Hz 1 beat = 1/4 s
Fig. 1 — The left ear receives 460 Hz, the right ear 464 Hz. The brain perceives a pulse at the difference: 4 Hz, four beats per second. Diagram: frequencies slowed down for legibility.

02 — The five bands

Each frequency gap targets a brain rhythm.

The brain's electrical activity falls into five bands. The app offers a session for each one.

  1. Delta 0.5 – 4 Hz Associated with deep sleep
  2. Theta 4 – 8 Hz Daydreaming, meditation
  3. Alpha 8 – 13 Hz Relaxed wakefulness
  4. Beta 13 – 30 Hz Attention, focus
  5. Gamma 30 – 100 Hz Intense information processing

What the research says

03 — The app

Five buttons, a pair of headphones, that's it.

Pick a band, set the volume, listen. No sign-up, no ads in your ears.

Before you listen

  1. Headphones or earphones are essential. On speakers, the binaural effect disappears.
  2. Keep the volume moderate. The beat is easy to perceive at low volume.
  3. Never while driving or operating machinery: some bands encourage drowsiness.
  4. Epilepsy, heart condition, pregnancy: ask a doctor before using the app.
  5. This is not a treatment. NeuroHarmonics does not replace any medical advice or care.
